Why the Switchbak Leash?

The Switchbak is designed around two custom sliding V-rings that allow seamless transitions between leash configurations: waist-worn, over-the-shoulder, hand-held, double-clipped, coupler, and more.

The supple, lightweight polypropylene webbing makes for smooth adjustments and a comfortable grip, and the length adjusts between 2.5 and 7 ft (0.7-2.1 m) without any additional steps. Ruffwear describes it as a leash ready to adapt to the ever-changing needs of dog-and-handler pursuits. Width: 3/4 in (20 mm).

What Makes It Work

The engineered polypropylene webbing with elastic core is wrapped around a single-piece anodised aluminium V-ring that slides smoothly for length adjustment. Two anodised 6061-T6 aluminium lockable Crux Clips - one at each end - provide two independent attachment points, enabling the coupler and double-clip configurations. Made in Vietnam. Available in 3 colours.

Suitable For

Suitable for handlers who regularly move between different activity types and need a lead that doesn't require changing gear. Works with any standard collar or harness ring. Two-clip design makes it usable as a dog coupler for walking two dogs from one lead.

How to Use

Clip one or both Crux Clips to your dog's collar or harness ring depending on the desired configuration. Slide the aluminium V-ring to adjust the active length between 2.5 and 7 ft. For waist-worn use, loop around your body and secure. For coupler use, clip each end to a separate dog. Hand wash with mild detergent, air dry.
